Safeguard Self Storage Acquires Premier Property at 130-02 South Conduit Avenue, Queens, NY
Safeguard Self Storage has acquired a newly developed, prime self-storage facility at 130-02 South Conduit Avenue in the Howard Beach/JFK area of Queens, New York. The property, designed and built by Triangle Equities, is part of a two-unit condominium structure, one of which Safeguard now owns and occupies. The acquisition was finalized in August 2023, immediately after the Certificate of Occupancy was issued, marking a milestone in the partnership between Safeguard and Triangle throughout the project’s planning and construction phases.
The state-of-the-art facility offers over 1,200 climate-controlled storage units within 117,000 rentable square feet, all contained in a 170,000-square-foot building prominently visible along the Belt Parkway. The building also includes dedicated parking and loading facilities, with an onsite office tailored to Safeguard’s operational standards. According to Stan Bonilla, Safeguard’s Senior VP of Development, the building’s high visibility, accessibility, and quality reinforce the company’s mission to deliver industry-leading self-storage experiences.
This acquisition marks Safeguard’s seventh location in Queens and reflects its strategic expansion into high-demand urban markets. The company remains focused on operational excellence, customer service, and community engagement, and plans further enhancements to the newly acquired facility to uphold Safeguard’s rigorous standards for safety, convenience, and service quality.
