A new 270-unit luxury residential community called Ora has opened in the heart of downtown Hackensack, New Jersey, marking the completion of a major redevelopment effort led by The Hampshire Companies in partnership with Russo Development and Riverbank Management LLC. Located at 321 Main Street, the seven-story mixed-use building features nearly 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and a full suite of modern apartment finishes, including 10-foot ceilings, stainless steel appliances, in-unit laundry, and optional private terraces. Ora is managed by Russo Property Management and was financed with a $62 million loan secured in 2023.

Amenities at Ora are designed to meet the lifestyle needs of today’s renter, offering concierge services, garage parking with EV charging stations, a fitness center, and ample proximity to public transit, retail, dining, schools, and healthcare. As part of the larger 2012 Hackensack Redevelopment Plan, Ora replaces several underused parking lots and supports the city’s long-term vision to evolve into one of New Jersey’s most vibrant residential and commercial districts.

The article also highlights the ongoing momentum in neighboring East Orange, where Triangle Equities is currently developing The Crossings at Brick Church Station, a multi-phase, transit-oriented project that will ultimately deliver approximately 1,000 residential units and more than 100,000 square feet of retail. Phase One, featuring 400 mixed-income apartments, is on track for delivery in early 2025 and aims to spur economic growth, deliver new housing options, and enhance community access to retail and transit along the historic Brick Church rail line.
