Fresh Food Market Coming to Lighthouse Point in St. George
Triangle Equities announced the addition of Lighthouse Point Market, a 7,000-square-foot fresh food market set to open in fall 2018 at its multi-phase Lighthouse Point development on Staten Island’s North Shore. Designed to provide healthy, affordable grocery options—including fresh produce, prepared meals, meats, and breads—the market addresses the USDA-defined “food desert” conditions of the surrounding community. It will be supported by a 300-space public parking garage to serve residents, commuters, and waterfront visitors alike.
Local officials including Councilwoman Debi Rose and Borough President James Oddo lauded the initiative as a major step forward in improving access to nutritious foods and creating local jobs. The market will be part of the development’s 65,000-square-foot commercial podium, which also welcomes Spaces, an IWG co-working operator, to its tenant roster.
Lighthouse Point reflects Triangle Equities’ investment in mixed-use waterfront revitalization, featuring 115 residential units (20% designated affordable), the 175-key Westin New York Staten Island hotel, and more than 23,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, and office space. The project is supported by a public-private financing partnership with Goldman Sachs, Citizens Bank, Empire State Development, the City of New York, and Lubert-Adler.
